Marcia L. Kennedy, 81, Kokomo, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019, at North Woods Village in Kokomo. She was born October 29, 1937, in Kokomo, to James and Edith M. (Edwards) Johnson. On November 25, 1956, she married Delno L. “Bud” Kennedy, and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2016.
Marcia graduated from Kokomo High School in 1955. She had worked in the cafeteria at Northwestern Schools, and was a member of Morning Star Church where she taught in the children ministries for over 20 years. Marcia led many to Jesus Christ and was known as a mighty Prayer Warrior. Marcia never missed a chance to dance, and all those who knew her know that she is dancing in Heaven now.
Survivors include her children, Kent Kennedy and wife Cathy, Kerri Hartman and husband Garry, Kirk Kennedy and wife April, and Kamala Ahnert and husband Roby; 16 grandchildren, Keith, Kyle, Kurtis and Kody Kennedy, Amanda VanNatter, Alexis, Abby and Aydan Hartman, Kirk and Kory Kennedy, Kelsey Koon, Kaitlyn Morgan, Alex Kennedy, Kenzi Gartman and Kasey and Kolby Ahnert; and ten great-grandchildren, Jenner, Cali and Maverick VanNatter, Kian, Kamden and Paxton Kennedy, Payton, Zoe, Layla and Harper Koon.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Logan VanNatter and Kamryn Kennedy, her parents and her two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., with Pastor Greg Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
