Lola Irene Davis, 85, Burlington, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at her home. She was born November 10, 1932, in Dyess, Arkansas, to Jess and Nellie Goodman. On November 1, 1951, she married Vance Davis, in Hernando, Mississippi, and he survives.
Lola graduated from Dyess High School in 1950, where she was a classmate of the great Johnny Cash, and also graduated from beauty school. She worked at Delco Electronics for a short time from 1956 to 1957 and was a beautician for 25 years. She owned her own beauty salon, Redwood Beauty Salon, at her home, and retired in 1982. She enjoyed reading, mowing, planting flowers and watching the Indiana Pacers, Matlock and Walker Texas Ranger. She was a member of the Burlington American Legion Auxiliary and a past member of the Burlington Order of Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by three sons, Randy (Lisa) Davis, Burlington, Doug (Vicky) Davis, Kokomo, and Alan (Tanja) Davis, Burlington; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Buttons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Neptune Chapel, 44 Michigan St., Burlington, with Pastor Dave Osborne officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Lola’s memory to the Burlington Church of Christ Food Pantry.
