Linda Taylor Obituary

Linda Taylor, 63, Russiaville, passed away at 4:39 pm Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  She was born January 27, 1956, in Kokomo, the daughter of James R. & Geraldine (King) Canady.  On December 28, 1974, at Russiaville Friends Church, she married Richard “Dick” Taylor, who survives.

Linda was a 1974 graduate of Northwestern High School.  She owned and managed Bowden Flowers with her husband Dick.  Linda provided childcare for several years.  She was a active member of First Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday school.  She was a key member of Kokomo Business Network (KBN).  Linda was devoted to reading her Bible, enjoyed traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved Christmas, and never missed a Hallmark Christmas movie. 

Along with her husband Dick, Linda is survived by her children, Rich Taylor, Chris (Kristen) Taylor, and Blake (Jessica) Taylor; grandchildren, Cooper, Natalie, and Elise; mother, Geraldine Canady; brothers, James Canady (Candace), Jerry (Rhonda) Canady, Gary (Linda) Canady, Jeff (Jennifer) Canady, and Pat (Judy) Canady; father and mother-in-law, Lewis (Mary Frances) Taylor; brother-in-law, Bill (Pam) Taylor; sister-in-law, Karen (Don) Sword; exchange student who was like a daughter to Linda, Margarita Santacruz, along with several nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, James R. Canady.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 5, 2019, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington Street, Kokomo, with Dr. Garey Miller and Dr. John Bond officiating.  Burial will follow in New London Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-8 pm Friday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made in Linda’s memory to First Nazarene Latacunga Missions or Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center in Kokomo.  Stout & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
