Linda Lou McAninch, 80, Kokomo, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at her home. She was born February 2, 1939, in Cicero, to Kenneth and Maxine (Jacobs) Hunter. On November 22, 1957, she married Richard McAninch, at Union Street Friends Church, in Kokomo, and he survives.
Linda graduated from Kokomo High School in 1957 and had worked at Delco Electronics. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her life. She enjoyed gardening and growing vegetables. Linda loved decorating and had a keen fashion sense that she passed on to her granddaughters. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the First Church of the Nazarene, in Kokomo. During the winters she and Richard spent in Florida, they enjoyed attending Heartland Christian Church, in Sebring, Florida. They also enjoyed playing bocce ball.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by her children, Christy (Jerry) Yard, Richard “Rick” (Julie Werner) McAninch and Mark (Hattie Williams) McAninch; grandchildren, Jamie (Justin) Markley, Sarah (Ryan) Markley, Joseph (Mindy Housley) Yard, Craig Yard, Stefanie (Adam) Street, Erin (Brad) Risley, Dustin (Claudette Carmona) McAninch, Sabrina McAninch and Austin Richardson; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Hunter and Maxine Weber; step-father, Victor Weber; son, Michael McAninch; and brother, Larry Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington St., Kokomo, with Pastor Garey Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo.
