Kenneth Michael “Mike” Grawcock, 54, Kokomo, passed away at 2:48 pm, Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born January 4, 1964, in Kokomo, the son of Kenneth David Grawcock & Lela Fay (Boughton) Street.
Mike was a 1982 graduate of Lewis Cass High School, and 1984 graduate of Vincennes University. He served with the United States Army, 82nd Airborne, from 1986-1989. He had spent 10 years with Chrysler Corp but his passion was for fishing; competing in tournaments, then serving as president of the Bass Club, where he was an active part in teaching kids how to fish through fishing clinics. Mike also loved collecting rocks for his rock garden and often sold some of his prized rocks. He was also a good carpenter, and a collector of arrowheads and coins.
Mike is survived by his mother, Lee Street; father and step-mother, Kenneth D. (Jane) Grawcock; sister, Nora Grawcock Massey; half-brothers, Samuel D. Grawcock, and David Grawcock; step-siblings, Jason Hackett, and Charlene Hackett Troy; nephews, Joshua Wilhelm, Nathan Massey, and Zackery Massey, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5-6 pm Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #415.
