Keith Elwood Ewing

Keith Elwood Ewing, 82, Kokomo, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.  He was born February 7, 1937, in Kenton, Ohio, the son of the late Fred J. & Lidia Ewing.  On December 18, 1971, he married Mary Eberle and she survives. 

Keith was a 1955 graduate of Kenton High School.  He received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, and a master’s degree from Ball State University.  Keith retired from Delco Electronics after 43 years of service as an engineer. During his time with Delco Electronics, he had 4 patents that were implemented.  He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society, Kokomo Kiwanis, and Fairfield Christian Church where he served as an Elder.  He also served as past president of the Community Concerts in Kokomo.  Keith was a member of the Hoosier String Players, and enjoyed donating his time at nursing homes playing his Dulcimer for the residents.  Keith loved woodworking and working in his yard.

Along with his wife Mary, Keith is survived by his children, Melody S. (Jeffery) Love, and Timothy K. Ewing; grandchildren, Levi (Sarah), Riley, Elyse, Ashely Rose (Ethan), and Hannah (Brandon), along with 7 great-grandchildren, and one on the way; sister, Phyllis Ewing; and his beloved felines, Sophie, and Susie.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Fairfield Christian Church, 1476 E. 400 S., Kokomo, with Pastor Lynn Coleman officiating.  Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3-7 pm Monday at the church.
