Kay Jean Frazer, 71, Kokomo, passed away at 8:45 am Friday May 3, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born April 8, 1948, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Donald J. “Jiggs” & Martha Marcella (Dwyer) Frazer.
Kay was a 1966 graduate of Northwestern High School, and a graduate of Huffer Beauty College. She served as a beautician for 13 years. Kay worked for Cabot Corporation, and spent 33 years as a curator at the Elwood Haynes Museum from 1979 until her retirement in 2013. She was a board member for the convention and visitors bureau. Kay was a member of the North West Carriage and Sleigh Association, and T.R.A.I.L. She had been a guest speaker throughout the State of Indiana at Aglow Fellowships, churches, and Compassionate Friends. She enjoyed Horse riding, and dog grooming and training. Kay was a member of Morning Star Christian Church.
Kay is survived by her siblings, Marita Clare (Elmer) Hileman, Dr. Jay Busby “Buzz” (Diana) Frazer, and Nola Jo “JoJo’ (Harvey) Zinschlag; step-sister, Christy Ann Richcreek Haynes; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Dell (Mark) Daily; step-mother, Christine Richcreek Frazer; and step-sister, Christy Ann (Raymond) Richcreek Haynes.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday May 10, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Greg Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11-1 pm Friday at the funeral home.
