Judy Faye Rider, 76, of Kokomo, passed away at 9:39 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at her home. She was born December 23, 1942, in Evarts, Kentucky, to Clifton E. and Opal Cleo Luttrell. On February 7, 1964, she married Charles A. Rider, in Indianapolis, and he survives.
Judy graduated from Evarts High School in 1960 and attended Indiana University Kokomo. She worked as a beautician and also did upholstery and embroidery. She owned her own business, The Coverall Shop, and taught sewing at Kokomo Urban Outreach. Judy enjoyed crafting and sewing. She was a member of the Glenndale Airport and Russiaville United Methodist Church and most recently attended Crossroads Community Church where she was involved in their Women’s Bible Studies.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Regina Rider; son, Bradley (Allyson) Rider; granddaughters, Magdalena and Hannah Rider; sisters, Reba Estes, Tommia Asher, Patricia Magner, Billie Pingledis and Sandra Walters; brother, Clifton Luttrell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Jeff Newton officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Contributions can be made in Judy’s memory to Kokomo Urban Outreach or St. Vincent Hospice.
