Joyce E. (Fowler) Spicer

Joyce E. Spicer, 62, Russiaville, passed away at 2:52 am, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, Kokomo. She was born May 30, 1957 to Melvin Fowler and Kathern Reed. 

Joyce was a 1975 graduate of Western High School. She was employed at NIPSCO for 42 years, a member of the USW Local 13796 Union, and Oakbrook Church in Kokomo. As there were many volunteer opportunities through Joyce’s work, she was always the first one to volunteer as she truly believed in helping her community. Joyce enjoyed knitting, working outdoors, NASCAR, and especially watching her grandchildren participate in sports. 

Survivors include her daughters, Ashley Collins, Kokomo, and Meghan (Gaelen) Lowers, Italy; mother, Katie Fowler; siblings, Gary Fowler, and Jackie Long; grandchildren, Kayleigh and Brysen Collins; and 3 nephews. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, and brother, David Fowler. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Morgan Young officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family 4-7 pm Monday, August 26, 2019 at the funeral home.
