Josephine (Sampson) Wooten

Josephine Wooten, 98, Kokomo, passed away at 9:30 pm Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at her home.  She was born March 20, 1921, in Madison, Indiana, the daughter of the late Jack Washington Sampson & Ruby (Stucker) Sampson.  On May 25, 1937, she married George Wooten and he preceded her in death in November of 1997. 

Josephine was a homemaker who had worked off and on at different clothing stores.  She was a member of Bible Baptist Church. 

Josephine is survived by 3 children; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two children; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville, with Pastor Dan Murphy officiating.  Burial will follow in New London Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1-3 pm Saturday at the funeral home.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
