Joseph Marchese Obituary

Joseph Anthony Marchese, 92, Kokomo, passed away at 4:00 am Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Golden Living Center in Kokomo.  He was born April 13, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of the late Carlo & Mary (Restivo) Marchese.  On June 19, 1981, he married Amy Walker and she survives.

Joseph was a graduate of Lincoln High School and had attended Marquette University.  He served with the United States Army from 1945-1946.  Joseph retired from Delco Electronics and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Along with his wife Amy, Joseph is survived by his children, Dawn (Kent) Wilson, Debbie (Chris) Appelhans, Kelly (Steve) Nagy, and Robert (Julie) Marchese; grandchildren, Chelsea, Ciera, Leah, Kristina, Natalie, Brad, Nick, and Molly; and siblings, Bastiano Marchese, Vito Marchese, Tony Marchese, and Mary Jane Rath. 

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carlo Marchese; and granddaughter, Karie Marchese-Wong.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, August 16, 2019, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington Street, Kokomo, with Rev. Fr. Brian Dudzinski the celebrant.  Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-11 am Friday at the church.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joseph’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
