John Robert "Bob" Gingerich

John Robert "Bob" Gingerich, 84, Greentown passed away at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, June 10 at Century Villa Healthcare in Greentown. He was born June 26, 1933 to John E. and Bessie (Bontrager) Gingerich in Howard County, Indiana. He married Suzanne L. (Shoemaker) on July 23, 1965 and she survives. 

He was in the first graduating class of Eastern High School in 1951. He served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955 attaining SGT. during the Korean war. He went on to attend Indiana University receiving a Master's degree in accounting and economics. He was employed by Delco Electronics in the accounting department retiring after 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Greentown Masonic Lodge # 341, Order of Eastern Star #195, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and the Kokomo American Legion and a former member of the Kokomo Elks Lodge.

He is survived by wife Suzanne Gingerich. He was also a much loved uncle to nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews

He was preceded by his parents, brother, Francis Gingerich (Marilyn) and sister Carolyn L. Duncan (William).

Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and the funeral service with be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St. in Greentown. Burial will follow the service in Christner Cemetery, Kokomo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children Hospital and/or St. Judes Hospital for Children.
