John Frederick Buckley

John Frederick Buckley, 82, Kokomo, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019.  He was born January 12, 1937, in Indianapolis, the son of the late John and Rosella Buckley. 

John was a 1955 graduate of Eastern High School, and attended Milligan College in Tennessee and Kentucky Christian University.  He traveled extensively, and his fondest memories were of visiting Jerusalem and Ireland.  John pastored at many churches over the years and spent the last 12 years serving as pastor of Swayzee Christian Church.  His calling and life’s passion was preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

John is survived by his wife Janet; children, Stephanee (Jeff) Cox, Jonathan Buckley, Chris Buckley (Jennifer Sullivan), Stephen Buckley (Itzy Prieto); brothers, Jack (Sharron) Buckley, Jef (Cheyrl) Buckley; sisters, Janna (Larry) Hyman, Jada (Gary) Haun; grandchildren, Lexi Buckley, Logan Buckley, Kristina Buckley, Levi Buckley, Brad Cox, Brian Cox, and Brandon Cox, along with many nieces and nephews. 

John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe (Nancy) Buckley; and sisters, Judy Fox, and Barbara Ann Buckley.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 East Main Street, Greentown, with his brothers, Jeff Buckley and Jack Buckley officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11-2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to Swayzee Christian Church, 110 N.
