Jerry Richard Ashburn

Jerry Richard Ashburn, 79, McCordsville, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019, in St Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis.  He was born February 3, 1940, in Kokomo, to Earl and Margaret “Peg” (Jett) Ashburn.
    
Jerry graduated from Kokomo High School in 1958.  He married his high school sweetheart, Geraldine (Myers) Ashburn, in Kokomo, on August 20, 1960, and she survives.  
    
Jerry was a general manager for several different trucking companies throughout his entire career. He enjoyed woodworking, working with stained glass and was a jack of all trades including plumbing, masonry, car repair and generally anything that needed to be fixed.  Jerry enjoyed his time at the family cabin in the Northwoods of Wisconsin where he spent many hours fishing, tinkering and spending time with many close Madeline Lake friends and family members. 
    
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Ashburn; children, Kim (Keith) Zook, Kurt (Brenda) Ashburn and Lorri (Mike) Patras; grandchildren, Trent (Courtney) Zook, Blake (Vanessa) Zook, Katie (Jeremy) Davis, Kevin, Rachel and Sarah Ashburn and Joe and Julia Patras; seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Coen, Audrey, Ada, Cody, Lexi and Laney; two brothers, Mike (Adela) Ashburn and Pat (Judy) Ashburn; and sister-in-law, Bobbie Ashburn.

He was preceded in death by parents and one brother, Don Ashburn.
    
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main Street, Greentown.  Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday also at the funeral home with Rex Lamb officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
