Jerald W. Hogan, 77, Kokomo, passed away at 2:12 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Autumn Ridge in Wabash. He was born August 20, 1941, in Beattyville, Kentucky, to Rosco and Loretta (Hall) Hogan. On June 1, 1981, he married Dixie L. Michael, in Kokomo, and she survives.
Jerald graduated from Camden High School in 1959 and attended Indiana University. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963 and worked in assembly and as a supervisor at General Motors for 32 years before retiring in 1997. Jerald enjoyed fishing and was a member of the 40 & 8, the American Legion, a lifetime member of the VFW and a past Exalted Ruler in the Kokomo Elks.
In addition to his wife, Dixie Hogan, he is survived by his sons, Brent Hogan, Christopher (April) Sagarsee and Ryan (Amber) Sagarsee; grandchildren, Kyndal Sagarsee, Quentin Simpson, Bodhi Sagarsee, Gabriella Sagarsee and Jon Wright; sisters, Betty (Dan) Patterson and Patricia (Peter) Wagoner; brother, Jim Hogan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Liberty Baptist Church, 3530 N. 1000 W., Tipton, with Pastors Meriah Tigner and Bob Lawson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
