Janet Jackson Obituary

Janet L. Jackson, 72, Russiaville, passed away at 7:10 am Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo.  She was born January 20, 1947, in Howard County, the daughter of the late Eldon & Bernice (Hawk) Welcher.  On June 18, 1965, she married Hughie Jackson and he survives. 

Janet was a 1965 graduate of Western High School.  She was a member of Honey Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she was a youth Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Ladies Club.  Janet loved babysitting a lot of the children in the community over the years, spoiling them along with her grandchildren who she adored.

Along with her husband Hughie, Janet is survived by her children, Deborah (Jimmy) Hunt, Michael (Paula) Jackson, and David (Connie) Jackson; grandchildren, Emily Hunt, Geryt Jackson, Telyn (Samantha) Jackson, Bransyn Jackson, Kelsey Jackson, Alex Jackson, Josh Bargerhuff, Justin Bargerhuff, Austin Overley, and Ciera Overley; great-grandchildren, Cali Jackson, and Isaac Jackson; siblings, Mike (Judy) Welcher, Becky (Ray) Vandergriff, and Patty Jackson; brothers-in-law, Raymond Jackson, Andrew Jackson, and Mick Wohlford; sister-in-law, Dorothy Adcock; and her two special dogs, Daisy, and Tater.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Judy Wohlford, Steve Welcher, and Linda Jackson. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Honey Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 250 Nashville Street, Russiaville, with Pastors Jim Stevenson, and Jimmy Hunt officiating.  Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 pm Wednesday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s memory to Honey Creek Missionary Baptist Church.  Stout & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
