James Carr Obituary

James H. Carr, 64, Kokomo, passed away at 9:08 am Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born February 20, 1955, in Kokomo, the son of the late Grady & Bessie (Moss) Carr.

James served with the United States Navy from 1972-1975. He treasured every moment that he spent with his children and grandchildren. James loved to fish, camp, and attend church. He was a chef who greatly enjoyed catering for his family and his friend’s special events.

James is survived by his God sent children, Amber (Anton) Kennell, Megan Kennell, Nick (Sarah) Kennell, and James (April) Kennell; brother, Perry (Charity) Carr; grandchildren, Jasmine, Jon, Jessica, Keagan, Keagonna, Keyshawn, Keaynisha, Kiarra, and Josephine; nieces and nephews, Heather Carr, Holly Moss, Jeffery Carr, Tyler (Molly) Moss, and Travis Bryant,

James was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Robert Carr, Cheryl Moss, and Patricia Miller; niece, Brandy Miller; and best friend, Patricia “Patty” Kennell.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, June 17, 2019, at 405 E. Havens Street, Kokomo. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
