J. Suzette (Jones) Wayt

J.  Suzette Wayt, 72, Forest, passed away on Wednesday August 28, 2019, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo.  She was born April 2, 1947, in Frankfort, the daughter of the late Raymond Jones & Genevieve (Unger) Welsh.  On February 14, 1970, she married Stanley Wayt and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1983. 

Suzette was a 1965 graduate of Clinton Central High School and had attended Indiana University at Kokomo.  She worked for Hill’s Childrens Wear and Floral Design, Mallory Timers, and the Clinton County Humane Society.  Suzette enjoyed attending services at New Beginnings Church in Frankfort.  Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys.  Suzette’s unending talents included floral design, knitting, cooking, baking, gardening and sewing.  When visiting her mother, they would enjoy extended walks on the ocean.  Suzette was also an avid collector of Longaberger Baskets.

Suzette is survived by daughter, Jennifer Wayt (Dennis) Dunten; longtime companion, Ray Orem; sister, Shirley (Roger) Kalter; her expanded family with Ray, Cheryl Byrd (Kevin Ridenour), and Ronnie (Stephanie) Orem; grandchildren, Anthony Wayt Dunten, Danielle Elizabeth Dunten, Justin Byrd, Gavin Ridenour, Austin Orem and Hailey Orem; sister-in-law, Kay Orem (Mark) Trenary; along with her dogs, Eli and Herbie; and her cats, Tommy, and Calinda.

Suzette’s family would like to thank Dr. Salter, Dr. Sylvester, and the Community Howard Regional Health Oncology Staff for their loving care and unending support.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Liberty Baptist Church, 3530 N. 1000 W., Tipton, with Pastors Paul Whitaker and Ted Orem officiating.  Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 pm Tuesday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main Street, Russiaville.   Suzette loved flowers but those preferring may make memorial contributions in Suzette’s memory to the Howard County Humane Society.  Stout & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
