Helen Marie (White) Robarge

Helen Marie Robarge, Kokomo, passed away on Saturday the 23rd day of November 2019.  The lord has taken our mother home.  Helen was born April 12, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio.  She was 92 years young.  She was a pillar of strength and love for all of her family.  Now it is time for her to rest.

Helen was the youngest of 13 children.  She was the mother of 10 children.  Helen was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio.   She graduated from Waite High School. She met and married James Joseph Robarge after World War II.  She lived through the great depression, WWII, Korea and the Vietnam War.   She lived through all of the changes to this country and traveled the United States with some of her children and grandchildren. She was baptized in Jesus name in the spring of 2016.  She loved to laugh, dance and spend time with her family.

Helen was a very strong woman and lived through many hardships and illnesses and stood tall.  She beat heart problems and cancer twice.  She always said to all of us she was fine.  She would also say when it's time the lord will take her and she was not afraid.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse & Florence White; husband, James Joseph Robarge; 2 of her sons, Frederick James Robarge and Edwin David Arthur Robarge; a daughter, Kathleen Marie VanCoppenolle; 2 sons-in-law, William Douglas Dishner and Frank Leroy Reavis; 2 grandsons, Arthur Elgie Vancoppenolle and Travis Wade Maier; and a great-granddaughter, Caidyance Marie Renae.

Helen is survived by her children, Ethel Jean Dishner, Wanda Helen Baker (Steve), Regina Margaret Reavis, James Joseph Robarge, Patricia Marie Robarge, Emil John Robarge (Carrie) and Rose Marie Maier (Steve).  She has 27 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 48 great-great grandchildren.

She will be loved and missed dearly. Spread your wings and fly high, we love you!

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, November 29, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Dave Osborne officiating.  Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12:30-2:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
