Helen Jeanette (Jones) Aaron, 92, Kokomo, passed away at 3:17 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2019, in her home. She was born on Dec. 13, 1926, in Newcastle, Indiana, the daughter of Burl Quincy and Mary Hartman Jones. On Nov. 15, 1946 in Kokomo, she and Jack C. Aaron were married by Rev. Edward L. Smithers.
Helen attended Kokomo High School. She retired from General Motors Corporation in 1983 after 30 years of service. She was a member of the UAW Local 292.
Helen was an outstanding cook and baker. She loved to crochet and knit. Helen traveled all over the United States with her husband and friends. She cherished spending time with her family. Helen also enjoyed playing her luck, which she had, at the casinos.
Helen is survived by her husband of nearly 73 years, Jack Aaron; her son, Michael Aaron (Bridget), Kokomo; along with her grandchildren, Rev. Father Sean Aaron, Seth Aaron (Jill), Adam Aaron, and Rev. Father Derek Aaron; 4 great-grandchildren, Simon Aaron, Declan Aaron, Alexander Aaron, and Elin Aaron; brothers, Samuel Jones, and Paul Jones; sister-in-law, Betty Jones, and several nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Merle Belt, John Jones, George Jones, Morris Jones, Francis Jones, Leona Stage, and Hazel Finster.
Family and friends are invited to visit with the family, from 5 – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, where a scripture service will offered at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 County Road South 200 West in Kokomo, with the Rev. Father Sean Aaron and Rev. Father Derek Aaron celebrating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Hospice Kokomo, or Sts.
