George Wisehart, 99, Russiaville, passed away at 10:40 pm Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Wellbrooke of Westfield. He was born January 24, 1920, in Clinton County, to the late Marshall & Elsie (Pike) Wisehart. On November 27, 1946, he married Rosemary Wright who preceded him in death on September 14, 2013.
George attended Forest Township High School. He served with the United States Army from 1941-1945 earning 2 Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Metal. George retired from Continental Steel after 36 years of service. He was a member of Family Worship Center and a former member of Russiaville American Legion. George enjoyed fishing and coon hunting.
George is survived by his children, Joey (Joyce) Wisehart, and Judy (Marty) Revis; grandchildren, Shawn (Dana) Burton, Jason (Rachel) Burton, Staci Colõn, Shannon (Scott) Childers; step-grandchildren, Deani Purvis, Misty Boodt, Russ (Kristy) Revis, and Ryan (Julie) Revis; great-grandchildren, Courtney Burton, Jake Burton, Kirsten Burton, Ciara Cass, Faith LaDue, Gavin LaDue, McKenzie Childers, Ally Purvis, and Carly Purvis; step-great-grandchildren; Andrew Revis, Alexander Revis, Ashton Revis, Austin Revis, Ashley Revis, A.J. Revis, and Allison Revis; sister, Marie Martin; and sister-in-law, Alma Newby, along with several nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and siblings, Carl Wisehart, Jake Wisehart, Elizabeth Melton, and Mary Harding.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, August 16, 2019, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville, with Pastor Jim Bradley officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Mausoleum with military honors provided by the United State Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.
