Frank Russel Balog, 51, Kokomo, passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born March 20, 1968, in Kokomo, to George A. and Mary Beth (Trump) Balog. On June 2, 1990, he married Jennifer Canady, in Kokomo, and she survives.
Frank was a 1986 graduate of Kokomo High School and completed his electrical apprenticeship with IBEW. He worked as an electrician for IBEW Local 668 of Lafayette and for General Motors. Frank was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing with his sons and best friend, Timothy Bean, of Ft. Wayne, spending time at the family lake home in Marcell, Minnesota, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a proud member of UAW Local 292.
In addition to his wife, Jennifer Balog, he is survived by his sons, Taylor Balog, of Ft. Wayne, and Ryan Balog, of Kokomo; daughter, Brittny Balog, of Kokomo; his parents, George and Mary Beth Balog; sister, Mary Ann (Dennis) Fuller, of Kokomo; brother, Charles Balog, of Kokomo; nieces, Emily Fuller and Lauren Hickey, both of Kokomo; and his “adopted” granddaughter, Lanie Marlene Walker.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Scott Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
