Francis "Frank" Quinn

Francis “Frank” Quinn, 81, of Greentown, passed away at 9:53 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Community Howard Regional Health. He was born on March 6, 1938, in Sturgis, Kentucky, to William Henry and Vivian Kathryn (Mattingly) Quinn. In the 1950s Frank met his beloved wife, Alger “Loretta” Gambrell. They were married for 49 years and lived in Greentown most of those years.

Frank was in the Air Force as a jet aircraft mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1966. He then starting working for Chrysler in 1966 and retired in 1996, with a membership with UAW 685. In Frank’s younger years, he was a farm hand, and he found his love in gardening and doing yard work. He would even help his neighbors mow their yards. Frank loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his three daughters, Vicki Singleton, of Greentown, Sherry (Rex) Ringeisen, of Amboy, Lora (Kevin) Barnett, of Raleigh, North Carolina; two brothers, Seldon Quinn, of Kentucky, Charlie Quinn, of Evansville; one sister, Henrietta West, of Arizona; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, parents, six brothers, two sisters, two grandsons.

Funeral services for Frank will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, with Pastor Brad Swain officiating. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown, with military honors. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
