Elizabeth A. Conwell, 90, of Kokomo, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019, at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru. She was born October 17, 1928, in Kokomo, to Lacy Martin and Madge N. (Anderson) Smith.
Elizabeth graduated from Kokomo High School in 1946. She had worked at First National Bank, Calico Cat, Wassons and as a secretary at Continental Steel. She was also a custom drapery seamstress on the side. Elizabeth was baptized at Southside Christian Church in 1940. She enjoyed gardening, cross-stitch and craft painting and was a member of Bridge Club.
Survivors include her sons, Dave (Konnie) Conwell, of Peru, and Mark Douglas (Teresa Flanagan) Conwell, of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter, Cathy (James) Raiser, of Lilbourn, Georgia; eight grandchildren, David Conwell, Steven (Ann) Conwell, Chris Conwell, Katie (Josh) Taylor, Hilary (Bill) Knerr, Courtney Raiser, Sara Raiser and Kara Conwell; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Steven Joe Conwell, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor John Rhodes officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
