Dorothy M. (Woodhouse) Gray

Dorothy M. Gray, 85, Kokomo, passed away at 1:07 pm, Friday, November 2, 2018, at her home.  She was born May 3, 1933, in Rochester, IN. She was the daughter of Everett & Mary (Cress) Woodhouse.  On November 5, 1954, she married Edwin D. Gray who preceded her in death on August 26, 2010. 

Dorothy was a 1951 graduate of Peru High School.  She retired from Delco Electronics and was a member of Bible Baptist Church.  Dorothy was an amateur painter, and after retirement, she would send family, friends, and missionaries hand written notes on cards that she personally painted.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dee Gray, Kokomo;  grandchildren, Matthew (Carol) Gray, Greenfield, Daniel (Sarah) Gray, Indianapolis, and Jacob Gray, Greenfield; great-grandchildren, Brayden Gray, Dylan Gray, William Stephenson, Cecelia Stephenson, Evelyn Gray, Zachery Gray, Emma Gray, Elaina Gray, Sydney Gray, Ana Gray, and Isaac Gray; brother, Richard (Linda) Woodhouse, Campbellsville, KY; and daughter-in-law, Susan Gray, Greenfield.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, son, Douglas Gray; and siblings, James, Robert, John, and Mary Jean.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Bible Baptist Church, 2635 S. Dixon Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Keith Treadway officiating.  Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 pm Tuesday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s memory to Bible Baptist Church.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
