Dorothy Mae “Dot” Foster, 95, Dillsboro, IN, passed away at 5:20 pm Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Water of Dillsboro. She was born January 1, 1924, in Rising Sun, IN, the daughter of the late John T. & Lenna (Durbin) Dugle. She married Warren Foster who preceded her in death in 1991.
Dot was a 1942 graduate of Rising Sun High School. She worked for the Greenfield Police Department as a dispatcher, L.S. Ayers as a store detective, and for RCA as a secretary. When she lived in Florida, Dot enjoyed volunteering and was named Volunteer of the year for the Gulf Shores Hospital. She was very outgoing, loved helping people, and was a Cincinnati Reds baseball fan.
Dot is survived by her niece, Lenna Dugle (John) Herzog, Aurora, IN; nephew, Charles (Sandy) Dugle, Rising Sun, IN; sister-in-law, Edith Dugle, Rising Sun, IN; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and special great-niece, Linda Jo McCardle Boruffo.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 brother; 3 half-sisters; 1 half-brother; and 4 step-brothers; nephews, Larry Dugle, and John J. Dugle.
A Committal service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Washington Park East Cemetery, in the Garden of the First President Mausoleum, 10612 E.
