Doris Jean (Reinke) Price

Doris Jean Price, 90, Greentown, passed away at 5:08 pm, Monday August 5, 2019, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo.  She was born February 15, 1929, in Waco, Texas, the daughter of the late Herbert Reinke & Katie B. (Snow) Reinke-Philley.  On November 17, 1951, in Waco, Texas, she married David R. Price who preceded her in death November 2, 2012. 

Doris was a graduate of Waco High School.  She previously worked for Delco Electronics, Read More Book Store, and Bon Air School.  Doris loved the sunshine, being outside, her flowers, traveling and was content being in her home. 

Doris is survived by her children, Deborah Jean (Lawrence) Causey, Douglas Ray (Margaret) Price, Donald W. (Rosanna) Price, and Dennis R. (Tammy) Price; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Pat (Bob) Casey, and Jerry Philley; sister-in-law, Josie Reinke,  along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Burt Philley; husband; siblings, Wanda Joy Meador, and Herbert “Buddy” Reinke; and 3 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, August 9, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Rev. Jim Stevenson officiating.  Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Mausoleum.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11-1:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Doris’ memory to We Care.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
