Denton Maners Obituary

Denton Jay Maners, 77, Kokomo, passed away at 12:35 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Golden Living Center in Kokomo.  He was born March 18, 1942, in Danville, to Louis and Agnes Maners.  On December 5, 1969, he married Joan Maners, and she preceded him in death on July 14, 1998.  He married Susie Maners, on October 5, 2000, and she survives.

Denton graduated from Danville High School in 1960 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Central Bible College in 1964.  He worked in maintenance at IPS and retired in 2002.  He enjoyed traveling with his brother, Doug, doing revivals and continued his ministry through many locations until 2002.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father, of Indianapolis; children, Alesia (David) Freeman, of Kokomo, Graham Maners, of Kokomo, Camille (Adam) Cole, of South Bend, and Matthew (Becky) Maners, of Pittsburgh; step-children, Tammy Wolfe, of Tipton, Chris Marr, of Kokomo, Rocky Marr, of Kokomo, and Eric Marr, of Kokomo; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Douglas (Judy) Maners, of Orlando; four nieces; and three nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Jimmy Justice officiating.  Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Denton’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or to CHMI Belize.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
