David Joe “Dave” King, 66, Kokomo, passed away at 7:44 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at his home. He was born May 12, 1953, in Anderson, to Eugene Franklin “Frank” and Velma Joyce (Kessler) King. On December 22, 1974, he married Rosalind Elaine Saunders, in Anderson, and she survives.
Dave graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 1971. He went on to work for Chrysler as an electrician and retired on January 31, 2018. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cars and riding his Harley and was a member of UAW Local 685 and the NRA.
In addition to his wife, Rosalind King, he is survived by his daughter, Eria (Shane) Pell, Kokomo; son, Christopher King, Kokomo; grandchildren, Hailey, Darrian and Jordan Kline and Gary Scroggin; great-grandchildren, Zoey Brookshire and Lainee Scroggin; sister, Petty King, Anderson; and brother, Don King, Galveston.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Dave will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Keith Wooden officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from Noon to 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
