Dale "Hawkeye" Chasteen Obituary

Dale “Hawkeye” Allen Chasteen, 66, Kokomo, passed away at 9:22 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Waterford Place Health Campus.  He was born April 6, 1952, in Danville, Illinois, to Arthur Floyd Chasteen and Frances Lucille (Reed) Chasteen.  On August 4, 1975, he married Brenda Leona (Steward) Chasteen, and she survives.

Dale dearly loved spending time with his family, friends, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and always happy to be outdoors in nature, especially when it snowed.

In addition to his wife of 43 years, Brenda, he is survived by his daughter, Dawn Marie and husband Alan Carter; son, Dale and wife Anna Chasteen; son, William Michael Chasteen; seven grandchildren, Heather and husband Roman Heredia, Eithan Gordon, Joseph, Marshall, Rylee, Liam, and Sophia Chasteen; four great grandchildren, Bentley, Braxtyn, Carsyn, and Cadyn Heredia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Sharon Henry, and Deborah Chasteen, two brothers, Ralph Stroup and Michael Chasteen.

Friends are invited to visit with the family to celebrate Dale’s life from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo. The visitation for Dale will be followed by cremation.
