Charles Woolley Obituary

Charles E. “Chuck” Woolley, 78, Kokomo, peacefully passed away on October 30, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital, while surrounded by family. Chuck was born on November 21, 1940, in Kokomo, Indiana. He was the son of George Woolley and Mildred (Grove) Woolley.

Chuck graduated from Kokomo High School in 1958. He retired as a supervisor from Delco Electronics after 30 years. He loved coaching youth baseball and cheering on the New York Yankees. He was also a life-long fan of both Notre Dame football and the Green Bay Packers. He had a passion for history which was evident in his “Simply Kokomo Indiana” Facebook page that he created in 2015. He genuinely enjoyed using this platform for sharing the City of Kokomo’s history. He also enjoyed expressing his opinion in conversations, especially in regards to smoking bans. He had a big heart for dogs and enjoyed keeping himself busy working on projects and building things for others.

He is survived by his children, Brad (Dodi) Woolley, Mike (Susie) Woolley, and Kim (Andy) Keogh; grandchildren, Rachel, Boston, Austin (Jessi), Baylor (Katie), Brayton, Noah, Berkeley, Baker, Finley, and Fletcher; one great-grandchild, Wren; and one sister, Suzanne (Jay) Meck. Chuck also had two special furry friends that were family, Max and Nikita.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, George, and his mother, Mildred, and his step-father, Wayne Wiggs.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Progressive Care Unit at St. Vincent Hospital.

A private funeral service is planned. Burial will take place in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Kokomo Humane Society or the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.  Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville, has been entrusted with arrangements.
