Charles Mote Obituary
Charles O. “Bud” Mote, 86, Kokomo, passed away at 10:09 pm Friday, July 6, 2018, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. He was born June 18, 1932, in Kokomo, the son of the late Howard O. & Addie L. (Clubbs) Mote. On July 3, 1960, he married Rita K. Letsinger who preceded him in death on July 26, 2014.
Bud retired in 1980 from Delco Electronics after 30 years of service. He served with the United States Army. He enjoyed working with stained glass and playing Bingo at the senior center, along with going to the casinos in Anderson and Las Vegas. Bud also enjoyed Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, fishing, birds, and gardening.
Bud is survived by his children, Darrell Mote, and Connie Mote; step-children, Robert Reecer, Larry Reecer, Thomas Reecer, and Kathy (Gary) Rief; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four very special grand Kittys; sisters, Barbara (Jim) Brown, and Jeannie (Bud) Campbell, along with several nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Mote; and step-son, Gerry Reecer.
The family would like to thank the 3rd floor nursing staff at Howard Regional Health for their professional and compassionate care of Bud. His personal care team lead by Heather, Allie, Abbey, along with Jessica, Hannah D., Hailey, Kelsey, and Hannah H., brought comfort to not only him, but our entire family. You will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 13, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
