Carol Martin Thieke, 80, Russiaville, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at his home. He was born May 1, 1939, in Kinder, Missouri, to Jessie Willard and Pagie (Stroup) Thieke. On September 26, 1956, he married Georgia Graves, in Peru, and she preceded him in death on January 19, 2014.
Carol attended Western High School and went on to serve in the Civil Air Patrol. He worked for several years at Frito-Lay and Penn Dixie Steel Corporation and for 23 years at Cuneo Press. He also owned a lawn mower mechanic business for ten years. Carol loved bluegrass and gospel music, playing his guitar and mandolin, camping and fishing. He served as treasurer for the NTPA in 1976 and also served as song leader for Russiaville Community Church where he was a member. Carol loved the Lord and his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Debra Bumgardner; grandsons, Ty Lindquist, David Shirley, Joseph Bumgardner and Jason Bumgardner; granddaughter, Crystal Parsley; great-grandchildren, Chassidy Parsley, Tishawn Parsley, Tinesha Ellis and Jaylynn Childers; sister, Dorcas Hayes; nephew, Jimmy Chadwell; and niece, Peggy Kessler.
In addition to his wife, Georgia Thieke, he was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Pagie Thieke; brother, Bubby Thieke; daughters, Linda Lindquist and Cynthia Ferguson; and a grandson, Brian Lindquist.
Funeral services for Carol will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Bill Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
