Carl Raymond Hargrave

Carl Raymond Hargrave, 69, Kokomo, passed away at 9:59 pm Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital, Kokomo.  He was born February 27, 1950, in Danville, Hendricks County, IN, the son of the late Raymond & Julia Marie (Snodgrass) Hargrave.  On August 18, 1984, at Russiaville Main Street Christian Church, he married Nancy Smith Toney who survives. 

Carl was a 1968 graduate of Cascade High School.  He retired from Duke Energy on June 30, 2010, after 40 years of service, as a substation maintenance supervisor.  Carl was a member of First Christian Church where he served as a deacon and elder.  He was a car lover, especially for Corvettes, Nomads, and Mustangs.  Carl enjoyed all types of music, motorcycles trips with his group of special friends, antiquing, and bird watching.  Carl was an avid Indianapolis Colts, Indianapolis 500, and NASCAR fan.  He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting and activity events. 

Along with his wife, Nancy, Carl is survived by his children, Jason Hargrave, Matthew (Jennifer) Toney, Melissa (William) Kelley, and Meagan Toney; grandchildren, Alliyah Hochstedler, Adina Hargrave, Veronica Hargrave, Aubrey Sparger, Samuel Kelley, Annalise Kelley, Eliza Kelley, Ali Toney, and Mckenzie Toney; and mother-in-law, Marilyn Burke.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; fathers-in-law, Robert Burke, and Edward Smith. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at First Christian Church, 854 N. 300 W., Kokomo.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 pm Monday at the church.  Stout & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
