Bettye A. (Cook) Bass

Bettye A. (Cook) Bass, 67, Kokomo, passed away and the Lord gathered up another angel at 4:17 am Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at her home.  She was born June 17, 1952, in Evansville, the daughter of the late Glenn Sr. & Anna L. Cook.  On April 20, 2000, she married Jerry W. Bass and he survives. 

Bettye loved her family and leaves them with wonderful memories of gatherings, dinners, and lake life adventures with her children and grandchildren.  She made Thursday’s special with a dinner for her children and grandchildren.  She was a 1971 graduate of Kokomo High School and retired from Delphi Electronics.  Her beautiful smile and loving heart will be greatly missed by all who loved her. 

Along with her husband Jerry, Bettye is survived by her son, Robert “Bob” (Leata) Banter; grandchildren, Wade and Nick Weideman, Blake and Mea Banter, Madison Johaning, and Will Sheasley; siblings, Arnold (Pam) Cook, Roger (Pam) Cook, Jerry (Ginger) Cook, and Glenda Kelly, along with several nieces and nephews. 

Bettye was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Ginger Weideman. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Barb Tranbarger officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-3:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Howard County Sheriff’s Benevolent Fund.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
