Betty (Gibson) Greenwood of Kokomo, Indiana went to be with the Lord in her home surrounded by her family at 10:22 am, December 24, 2018. She was born (a twin) October 8, 1935 in Fort Smith Arkansas to George S. and Mattie Francis (Bell) Gibson
Betty was a graduate of Fort Smith High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas, class of 1955. After graduation she married David Greenwood.
Betty and Dave lived in Hanover, Pennsylvania, where they raised three wonderful children. Theresa Lynn, Douglas Bryan, and Ruth Marie. Betty moved to Kokomo in 1978 where she worked for Duke Energy of Kokomo and retired in 1996.
Betty loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Ellie Bowen, J. B. Bowen, Julia Greenwood, and Devon (Frankie) Russell and great grandchildren, Maggie Grace, Milo Alan, and River Grace.
Betty was a member of North View Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Kokomo, Indiana. Betty will be missed by all who knew her.
Betty is survived by her three children, Theresa (Jeff) Bowen, Douglas Greenwood, and Ruth Marie Greenwood. She is also survived by sisters, Frances E. Rayl, Florida, Mary Ann Thresher, Fort Smith Arkansas, and brothers, J. B. (Shirley) Gibson, Downey California, Bill Gibson, Fort Smith, Arkansas, “twin brother” Bobby (Judy) Gibson of Kokomo, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George S. and Mattie F. Gibson, and a brother, G. S. Gibson.
Visitation shall be at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 West Lincoln Road. Thursday Dec. 27, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 3:00 pm officiated by Rev. Sean Cooper.
