Barbara Bagby Obituary

Barbara Jane Bagby, 79, Kokomo, passed away at 7:20 am Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Golden Living Center in Kokomo.  She was born September 25, 1939, in Russiaville, the daughter of the late Donald & Meadella Wayonetia “Peggy” (Orem) Kemp.  On March 7, 1959, she married Clifton F. Bagby who preceded her in death on April 29, 2015.

Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Western High School.  She worked for Delco Electronics and as a waitress for Denny’s, Bob Evans, and Freshens Restaurant.  Barbara was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed playing cards with her friends.  She was a former member of First Baptist Church where she led the women’s Bible study.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Jeffery A. (Christine) Bagby, and Randy S. (Lisa) Bagby, both of Kokomo; grandchildren, David J. Bagby, Christopher S. Bagby, Dustin J. Bagby, and Taylor M. Hillman; great grandchildren, Chase Bagby, Kaelin Bagby, Emmaline Bagby, Austin Main, and Andrew Hillman; special aunt, Mary (Max) Peele, along with several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, David Kemp and James Kemp. 

Funeral service will be held at Noon Monday, February 18, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastors Jeff Russell and Stan Zurcher officiating.  Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 am until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to Great Lakes Hospice.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstoutcom.
