Alan Lowery Obituary

Alan Frank Lowery, 64, Greentown, passed away at 11:50 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at his home.  He was born January 26, 1954, in Akron, Ohio, to the late John Frank & Melba Juanita (Watson) Lowery.  On September 10, 1977, in Lakemore, Ohio, he married Darlene Kay Steele and she survives.

Alan was a 1984 graduate of Akron University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He worked for Valeo in Seymour, IN, as a project manager. He was a loving father, who cherished his family, children, and grandchildren.  Alan was an avid participant with the William’s Syndrome walks that benefited children like his grandson. He was a hard worker, and loved music.  Alan took great pride in his yard and loved working in it. He was also a member of the Greentown Wesleyan Church where he served as usher, volunteered regularly, and loved the Lord. 

Along with his wife Darlene, Alan is also survived by his daughters, Sarah (David) Canada, and Ashley (Zachary) Funk; grandchildren, Chloe Canada, Jonah Canada, and Phinehas Canada; brother, David (Flor) Lowery, along with several nieces and nephews. 

Alan was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Rev. Eric Roemer officiating.  Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Alan’s memory to the Williams Syndrome Association, 570 Kirts Blvd., Suite 223, Troy, MI 48084-4153, https://williams-syndrome.org/make-donation.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com
