Sherry D. Mince, 57, Kokomo, died at 10:20 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born September 7, 1952 in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Carl and Betty (Smith) Auten. On October 3, 1970 she married Harold R. Mince, who survives.

Sherry attended Lewis Cass High School. She worked at Delco Electronics for 20 years and was co-owner of Mince’s Creatures in Kokomo. Her grandchildren were her life and she was an animal lover.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are her children, Harold R. Mince and his companion Melissa Woodruff-Mince, April R. Mince and her fiancée Chris Gannell, Matthew Mince and his wife Estela, all of Kokomo; grandchildren, Nikki Mince, Janely Mondragon, Zoe Mince, Miley Mince, Anighis Cuttriss, Jada Cuttriss, Sarah Cuttriss, Molly Cooper and Adam Cooper; mother, Betty Auten of Galveston; brothers, Gary Auten of Galveston, Carl Auten and his wife Marilyn of Logansport; sister, Susan Simpson of Galveston; God children, Sabrina Barnett, Tricia Harris, Jennifer Cuttriss, Amanda Wright; best friends, Shirley Julow-Howell, Jo Lawrence; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ted and Eva Shoffner.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A celebration of Sherry’s life will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at her home, 5301 West 00 NS, Kokomo. Friends may call at the home anytime after Noon. In keeping with Sherry’s wishes, she will be cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Stout & Son Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
