Larry Don Brubaker, 67, Kokomo, died at 1:32 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010, in the Emergency Room at Howard Regional Health Center. He was born June 30, 1943 in Royal Center, the son of Donald and Wilma (Mullins) Brubaker. He married Marsha Kay Owens August 16, 1970 in Monon and she survives.
He was a graduate of Royal Center High School and served in the Indiana National Guard for six years. He retired from Delco Electronics in 1997 with over 30 years of service.
He was a former member of the Church of the Brethren. One of Larry’s past times was sitting on his front porch, people-watching. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, and attending auto races. He greatly loved visits from family members.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, is one daughter, Joy Kay Franks and her husband Jacob Robert of Lebanon; one grandson, Ethan C. Franks, also of Lebanon; two brothers, Lynn Brubaker and his wife Jeanne of Logansport and Jon Brubaker and his wife Karen of Ft. Wayne; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., with Pastor Greg Reed officiating. Following the service, and in keeping with Larry’s wishes, he will be cremated. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until service time on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
