Barbara Ann "Bunny"Brown, 74, Kokomo, died at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Howard Regional Hospital, Kokomo. She was born October 4, 1935, Springfield, In., to Charles R and Eva (Kassen) Jones. She married David Charles Brown on August 27, 1954; he preceded her in death, July 28, 2002.
Barbara was active in the community, serving on the board of the Howard County Community Assistance Foundation. She held membership in General James Cox chapter of DAR, Kokomo Shrine Club Maha, Order of Eastern Star of Indiana, 108 Center Chapter. She was a participant in Howard County Home Extension and enjoyed judging scrapbooks, baskets and quilts at the Howard County 4 H fair. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Lisa and Gene Petty, Kokomo, Cindy and John Kerker, Kokomo, Sharon and Larry Indrutz, Kokomo; one son David (Rick) and Nancy Brown, Nottingham, PA.; grandchildren, Matthew Indrutz of Columbus, OH, Alexander and Rachelle Indrutz, Lebanon In. Spencer Petty, Kokomo, Jennifer Petty and Nick Jones, Kokomo. Katy and Aaron Crist, Sweetser In; Madison Brown, Nottingham, PA , Alleca Kerker, Kokomo; two great-grandchildren Kaylee and Alexis Indrutz, Lebanon In; expecting two more great-grandchildren in October and February; one Aunt, Margaret McFarland, New Castle, In.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; son, Michael Brown: daughter, Julie Brown; several aunts - uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 West Lincoln Road, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at Noon Monday, July 19, 2010 at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville, Indiana, with Pastor John Hogsett officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Centerville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, with envelopes available.
