Jerry Lee Oldfield, 74, Cutler, died at 10:03 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at his home.
He was born Feb. 17, 1936, in Kokomo, to Jess Austin and Margaret (Westerman) Oldfield.
He married Bonnie Larie (Miller) on Sept. 17, 1954, in Crawfordsville. She died April 20, 2007.
He retired from PSI Energy Inc. on Oct. 1, 1996, after 42 years of service. He graduated from Kokomo High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Jerry Oldfield II and wife Sandy, Kokomo, and Barney Oldfield, Cutler; daughters, Starla Eads and husband Jon, Kokomo, Michelle Keck and husband Jeff, Burlington, Jodi Guise and husband Chris, Flora; eight grandchildren, LeAnn Sefton and husband Tony, James DeLano, Jesse Parker, Tabitha Parker and fiance Jeramy Bogue, Curtis Keck, Crystal Keck, Robin Guise and Andy Guise; two step grandchildren, Heather Eads and Jon Eads; three great-grandchildren, Skylor Sefton, Taylor Sefton and Prestin Bogue.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister, Elsie Fording.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road. Steve Cole will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo, with military rites performed by the Kokomo Military Rites Team. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
