Roger D. Bowlin, 47, Kokomo, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, went home to be with the Lord at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Howard Regional Health System. He was born March 28, 1962 in Elwood, Indiana, the son of Darrell & Velma (King) Bowlin. On October 14, 2005 he married Karen (Dunning) Barker and she survives.

Roger was a 1980 graduate of Alexandria High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1980-84. He had been employed by Marsh Supermarket in Elwood, Red Gold, Marburger Foods, and had most recently worked for at Stephens Machine in Kokomo. Roger enjoyed outdoor activities including boating, skiing, and shooting.

He is survived by his wife Karen Bowlin of Kokomo; parents, Darrell & Velma Bowlin of Alexandria; three sons, Carter Bowlin, Brendan Barker and Aaron Barker all of Kokomo; two sisters, Sherri Wyatt and her husband Chris of Anderson, Cheryl Bowlin of Noblesville; and his aunt, Barbara Diruzza and her family.

A memorial service celebrating Roger’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main Street, Greentown, with Pastor Ed Joyner officiating. Friends are invited to call one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
