Cecile (Ceil) Mary Kinney died peacefully at home April 9th 2018. Cecile was the second of six children of Irvin and Bernadette (Hebert) LaBelle who preceded her in death. Cecile was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Donald P. Kinney married on June 12, 1954 and passed away on June 27, 2004. Cecile is survived by her brother Robert LaBelle, Laconia New Hampshire.  Cecile is also survived by her beloved children Sean P Kinney, Gilayne M. Lange, Thomas J. Kinney and Kay (Kellie) Schneck husband Barry. Cecile is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

Cecile proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a disabled Veteran. Cecile was employed as a nurse and retired from Ivy Tech College as a professor of the allied health programs and the medical assistant program. Ceil touched many lives with her compassion and vast medical knowledge. All students were welcome at her door and were given every opportunity to advance their careers and their personal lives.

Cecile’s interests included music, quilting, crocheting, bird watching, gardening and watercolor painting.

Cecile especially cherished her beloved dog Gigi. Cecile spent many hours playing and holding her Gigi. Anyone who knew Cecile wished they could be reincarnated as Ceil Kinney’s dog. What a life that would be!

Cecile will be greatly missed by her friends and especially her family.  It would be difficult to find a more compassionate loyal friend and Mother than Cecile.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 13, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1204 N. Armstrong St., Kokomo, with Rev. Father David Huemmer officiating. Hi cousins et al,
My condolences on the loss of Cecile. She was always kind to me. Back in the 1955 era I would practice football for Cathedral at its stadium on 16th St.. Between the morning and afternoon practice I would at times walk up to her home near Riverside? and 28th St.?. She would give me a drink and something to eat and let me rest.
Obviously, she had a bountiful life as is shown by 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Love to all, Maury
