Betty L. (Warnock) Young passed away at10:06am Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She was born December 27, 1920 in Howard County, the daughter of Glen and Tempa (Bryan) Warnock. She married C. Melvin Young on September 15, 1940 at Converse Christian Church. They shared 66 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death on October 23, 2006.

Betty graduated from Jackson Township High School. She was involved in 4-H for 10 years and was a member of Greentown Eastern Star for 50 years. She was also a member of Macedonia Christian Church.

She enjoyed helping out on the farm when she was needed and loved to play golf as well as doing craft projects. She also enjoyed baking special treats for her grandchildren.

Betty worked at JC Penney for 16 years. After retiring she and Melvin enjoyed spending the winter months at their home in Naples, Florida for 25 years.

She is survived by one son, Kent and Melinda Young, Greentown; daughters Patricia and Bill Rosa and Sandra and Robin Riggs of Greentown; 10 grandchildren, Zachary and (Rosie) Young, Trevor and (Ashley) Young, Connor Young, Scott Rosa, April and (Kurt) Akers, Amanda and (Jeremy) Robinson, Lindsay and (Chad) McKnight, Adam Riggs, Brandi and (Justin) Williams, Hope Gilbert; as well as 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Gaynelle Smith; a brother, Robert Warnock; and a daughter, Annette Lowe.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Macedonia Christian Church, 1532 S. 500 E. Kokomo, IN with John Piotrowicz officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Macedonia Christian Church.
