Helen Theresa Roesler, 96, Kokomo, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017.  She was born November 4, 1921, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late George Aloysius & Mary Josephine (Meyer) McGraw.  On January 19, 1948, she married Paul Roesler in Muncie, who preceded her in death. 

Helen retired from St. Joseph Hospital where she was Pastoral Care Coordinator for over 25 years.  She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and word searches.

Helen is survived by her children, Mary Catherine Roesler (Shumaker), Joseph “Joe” Roesler, Indianapolis, John (Marie) Roesler, Iowa City, Iowa; grandchildren, David, Matthew, Andrew, Edwin Shumaker, all of Phoenix, AZ, Paul Roesler, Iowa City, Iowa, Michelle Roesler-Buck, Wilton, WI, Julie Roesler-Vandewater, North Liberty, IA; great-grandchildren, Jaden & Emerson Roesler, Ashli & Baily Garwood, Leander, TX, and Tyler & Adam Vandewater, North Liberty, IA; sister, Eileen Hurley, Fishers; and brother, William “Bill” McGraw, Muncie. 

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Charles McGraw, Joseph McGraw, George “Junior” McGraw, James Robert “Bob” McGraw, and sisters, Patricia “Pat” McGraw (Puetz), and Mary Margaret McGraw (Guinup).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, January 4, 2018, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington Street, Kokomo, with Rev. Fr. David Huemmer the celebrant.  Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery at 2:00 pm in Muncie.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-11 am with the Rosary offered at 9:30 am on Thursday at the church.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to Food for the Poor, 6401 Lyons Road, Coconut Creek, Florida 33073, or to Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, Alabama 35210.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
