Joshua Micheal Beard, 27, Kokomo, passed away at 2:10 pm Tuesday September 5, 2017, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo.  He was born August 6, 1990, in Kokomo, the son of Michael Cooley & Robin Van Briggle.  On June 6, 2013, he married Rachel Beard, and she survives. 

Joshua was a mechanic who loved playing with his son, and his brothers.  He enjoyed working on cars, and spending time with his family.

Joshua is survived by his wife, Rachel Beard; mother, Robin Van Briggle; father, Michael Cooley; son, Joshua Beard; brothers, John (Brittany) Beard, Justin (Suzy) Beatty, and Michael Cooley; aunts, Kim Wright, Misty (Jason) Ritchie, and Lori Henson.

Joshua was preceded in death by his grandmother, Connie Beatty, and uncles, Tony Van Briggle, Tim Henson, Frank Walker, and Randy Van Briggle. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Jefferson Street Chapel, 414 West Jefferson Street, Kokomo.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from Noon until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shirley & Stout Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.

I just want to say I have always loved u to the moon & back.We had a very special Aunt & nephew relationship..I know ur with Mom, Uncle Tony & Uncle Tim & so many other loved ones.I pray uve found the solace u needed baby...Aunt Kimi will always hold u dear!
