Willard worked at Continental Steel Mill for 30 years until his retirement.  He loved vegetable gardening, always giving to his family, neighbors and friends.  He was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and his family.  He attended church at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Edna Smith, he is survived by his sisters, Floy (Hoyt) Wood, Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Doris (Joe) Hawkins, Sulligent, Alabama; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billie Smith and Ted Smith; and half-brother, Archie Spear.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Steve Sherwood officiating.  Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.  Messages of condolences may be expressed online at www.stoutandson.com.  Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville, has been entrusted with arrangements.
