On Jan. 26, 1958, Ron married Emily Kessler at Beck Memorial Chapel on the IU Bloomington campus.

Ron graduated from Indiana Barber College in Indianapolis in 1959. He joined the Kokomo Fire Department in July 1960, served on the “first aid” for six years and retired as a captain in July 1985. He worked for 48 years on a part-time and then full-time basis at Templin Barber Shop in Kokomo. Ron also served as a part-time EMT on the Howard Community Ambulance Service from 1980 to 1988. He was a member of both the Barber and Firefighter Unions.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Emily and Ronnie''s daughters and grandchildren. Although I only knew Ronnie for a little more than 20 years, I was the recipient of his friendly smile and his warmth. I will miss seeing him when Janice and I come back to Kokomo to visit and for class reunions.

Emily and family, was surprised to hear about Ron. It's been a very long time but I remember so many wonderful times at your home. May the Lord heal your hearts quickly.
