Harry Bledsoe Jr., 61, Russiaville, died at 5:07 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, in the emergency room of Howard Regional Health System. He was born July 20, 1950, in Norfolk, Va., to Harry and Amelia Jane (Bryant) Bledsoe Sr. On Nov. 26, 1980, he married Jean Ellen Mock in Russiaville, and she survives.
He was a director of clinical engineering at Howard Regional Health System for 31 years.
He was a 1968 graduate of West Lafayette High School and a graduate of Purdue University, with a degree in biomedical engineering.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972, achieving the rank of E-5 petty officer, 2nd class.
He was an avid casino lover.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Bledsoe, Russiaville; his children, Brandon (Jamie) Bledsoe, Kokomo, Amelia (Larry) Corne, Kokomo, Katherine (Ben) Martin, Russiaville, and Nickolas Bledsoe and his life partner, Michael Terry, Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren, Brayden, Bryson, Briley, Mark, Travis, Levi, Makayle, Shylah, Eve and Ava; one sister, Harriet (Marvin) Hinkle, Decatur; brother-in-law, Roger (Carol) Mock, Tennessee; mother-in-law, Barbara Mock, Kokomo, and father-in-law, Duane (Judy) Mock, Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Stout and Son Funeral Home, Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville. The Rev. Gary Carter will officiate. Burial will follow at Russiaville Cemetery, with military rites by the Kokomo VFW. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
